When it rains

I love the rain. I grew up in New Jersey where it snows and rains quite often.

Now living in Austin, I miss the east cost downpours I grew up with. Here the common joke “if you don’t like the whether, wait two minutes and it will change” couldn’t be more accurate. It’s rare that the sky will turn gray, ominously garnering anticipation, and then burst into a lasting gutter-gushing storm of thunder and lightning.

This Sunday morning we all finally received a much-needed shower. It’s exactly a week until I leave for the rainy city of London and I honestly still can’t believe I’m really going. Nothing like a little change in weather to get me thinking about what’s to come.
